AWANA

AWANA is a children’s program that has an objective to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him!

So, what does AWANA mean?
A – Approved
W – Workmen
A – Are
N – Not
A – Ashamed

The acronym is derived from 2 Timothy 2:15.
The emphasis of AWANA is Bible memorization. Each week the young person is challenged to recite various scripture passages that teach them about God, Christ, salvation, and many other things!

AWANA has a special time for games, handbooks and an appropriate challenge from the Bible. It is an exciting program filled with fun competition and prizes.

There are several AWANA clubs based on age groups:
Cubbies – Preschool
Sparks – Kindergarten through 2nd grade
T&T (Truth and Training)- 3rd through 6th grade                                                                     TREK – Middle School                                                                                                               Journeys – High School

Each night ends with a special awards ceremony for those clubbers who have earned badges, stickers, and jewels for their uniforms. There are special theme nights (where clubbers dress in certain costumes or clothes), craft nights, and even special snack nights.
