Summer Hill Baptist Ministers to Women of All Ages

Ladies Ministries meets on 1st Tuesday evening of the month (except July and August) at 6:30 pm in the church fellowship hall.. Special projects for the church and opportunities for service are discussed and carried out. A Bible challenge is given as well as delicious refreshments are offered. This is a great time of fellowship. Come join us.

Craft NIght

Teens and Ladies are invited to Craft Night on the 3rd Thursday at 7pm.  We learn a craft to share with our shut ins or perhaps to use as a table favor at our fellowship dinners.  Come and enjoy the fellowship.

History of the Ladies Bible Circle

On January 3, 1954 the ladies of Summer Hill Baptist Church met for the first time. Everyone agreed to use the name "The Ladies Bible Circle" and to meet the first Tuesday of each month. The circle soon had 38 members. When the circle was first organized, it was basically a Bible study with different ladies as teachers.

For the first year there were no officers except a teacher and secretary-treasurer. The first teachers were Mrs. Gertie Flinchum, Mrs. Amanda Hancock, Mrs. Mary "Molly" Williamson, Mrs. Margaret Gilmore and Mrs. Mary Kennedy. In June of 1955 we elected our first president, Mrs. Lucy Short Blaylock.

Throughout the years, the Ladies Bible Circle have completed several projects for the church and the glory of God. They include: new church hymnals, shrubbery for the church, glass top and cloths for the communion table, flower stands, table cloths, curtains, supplies and electrical equipment for the fellowship hall, a clock for the sanctuary, furniture for the Prophet's chamber, nursery, and foyer. In 2007, a cookbook was compiled. Each year the Ladies Bible Circle delivers cookies or a fruit basket to our shut-ins at Thanksgiving and poinsettias at Christmas. A yearly Christmas dinner is also sponsored.

As we continue, we ask the Lord to keep us humble and in His will that we might be a blessing to others. All ladies are welcome to join our circle.
